Arts survive

Chichester Festival Theatre and The Pallant Gallery have been designated important revenue producing centres that bring much needed income, and also visitors, into Sussex.

Between them, the two centres will receive £5.3 Million over the next three years, which will allow them to maintain their unique and creative contribution to the fabric of  The City as well as Sussex, and the National and international reputation each Institute has established.

The Gallery has just finished a free exhibition on the Festival of Britain which over the period it was open drew in just over 100,000 visitors. Now that the new look has merged into the Landscape of the Pallants, the range of exibitions as well as the Gallery’s Library of Art will enable it to grow and can only add to the reputation it has.

This is a part of the Council’s 10 year Arts programme designed to support these institutes, as well as the means to develop further Arts centres and resources across the County. So, it makes sense to highlight what can only be described as two flagship locations on the strength of which the creative Industries have a chance to grow.
